We just had one of the biggest scares ever…even bigger than swine flu!
My husband, daughter, and I just went down to the community pool for a swim. We didn’t notice anything different so we just got in the pool and started to swim around.
I look over at the hot tub and see a sign attached to it.
I proceed to get out of the pool to look at the sign which reads:
POOL CLOSED
by order of the health department. Swimming in pool may be harmful to your health. Signed yesterday.
I notice on the main pool (where we were swimming) that there is the same kind of tagging system that they used where a sign once was and was ripped off!
I about have a panic attack right there (yes, it seems my anxiety is increasing lately) and tell my husband and daughter to get out of the pool. My daughter is crying, I am freaking.
I go in to the bathroom and grab the antibacterial hand soap and wash my daughter and I off in the shower as fast as I could.
We go home and call the health department ASAP. Closed.
We call the property management company. Have no clue, said they call us back. Still haven’t called.
Finally I got the bright idea to go back to the pool and see if the sign had a number. It did.
Call the number and FINALLY the guy who shut down the pool is on the phone.
There is a leak in the pool and chemicals are leaking out so it is unsafe to swim.
We are not going to die of disease from the pool!!!!!!
He still did say it was unsafe to swim, but dh said he didn’t say we had to rush to the emergency room or anything.
Thank God.
So basically, our property management company SUCKS and is not fixing the pool. No one bothered to put any signs on the gates that lead into the pool, or on any doors in the clubhouse!!!
We live in a nice community that just spent a ton of money installing a key fob security feature for entering the pool and clubhouse, but the stupid pool isn’t even up to code!!!!
I am furious and will now make my own signs to put around the pool.
I mean really, what if we had gotten sick?
