Peet’s Coffee Switch #CBias #PeetsCoffee

My husband and I both love coffee. For him, it’s the beverage he starts his day with, and for me, it’s what I drink for an afternoon pick-me-up.

We’re not loyal to any particular brand, but we know what we like. I adore seasonal flavors, and my husband is a traditionalist, going just for a medium roast with additional flavors being added in as or after the coffee is brewed.

Our current brand of coffee is just OK. It’s from Target’s Archer Farms brand and it’s an organic coffee made from Mexican beans. I chose this coffee because it was the most inexpensive organic coffee I could find. The taste is very mild, as I like it, but my husband always commented that it could use a little more…UMPH!

I knew I wanted to switch my husband’s morning coffee with Peet’s Solano –a new brand for us– which is another medium roast coffee. I was hoping the blend of beans in Peet’s (from Africa, the Americas & the Indo Pacific) would give him the extra flavor he was looking for.

On coffee switch day, I made his coffee like I normally do in our Keurig Mini. I recently purchased the Keurig refillable K-Cup filter so I could use any ground coffee I wanted. This little filter has been the best purchase I’ve made in awhile because it doesn’t tie me down to expensive K-Cups!

Instead of making him a plain old, boring cup of coffee, I thought I would spice it up a little with pumpkin spice!

Remember, my husband isn’t a fan of seasonal flavors because he thinks they taste artificial. I actually agree with that sometimes. To solve that problem, I came up with the ingenious idea of adding pumpkin spice directly in with the coffee grounds! This eliminates any artificial ingredients, and gives the coffee a hint of flavor. The same trick can be used with cinnamon.

So, I switched Peet’s with our usual coffee, added in a little pumpkin spice to the grounds, and then brewed.

For the final touch I added a hint of stevia and a splash of milk. Then I gave him his coffee.

I didn’t tell him I made the switch.

He wondered why I was taking pictures.

Before I made the reveal, he actually commented how smooth and flavorful the coffee was!

Then the secret was out! He loved Peet’s and the coffee switch was a success ๐Ÿ™‚

If you would like to make the Peet’s Coffee Switch, here’s a coupon for $3 off a bag of Peet’s Cafe Solano or Cafe Domingo– you just need to refer 3 friends, and then they each get a $3 off coupon!

Also, take a look at my Google+ Album where I share my Peet’s Coffee shopping excursion at Super Target!
