A Simple Beauty Secret

When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time in my grandma’s home because she watched me after school. I remember rummaging through her closets, dresser drawers and cabinets under the bathroom sink looking for treasures. I always thought my grandma had the best stuff, and she would routinely let me keep my finds. As I got older, I was less interested in necklaces and bracelets, and instead had my eyes set on bath and beauty products, including perfume, lipstick and curious white bars of soap my grandma had stockpiled under her bathroom sink.

As it turns out, these bars of soap were Dove Beauty Bars. I recall smelling them over and over again because I loved their scent so much, and apparently I asked if I could take a couple home with me to use in the bathtub. My grandma was more than happy to share her beauty secret with her granddaughter, and I will forever associate the the Dove brand with her (I’m almost convinced at this point that it’s why she looks so great at 90!).
