This post is brought to you by Kamino. All opinions are my own.
I just came across a new app that’s going to be a staple in my arsenal of iPhone apps when I’m on the go. It’s called Kamino and it’s a user based iOS application that features “Hikes” from around the world. These Hikes aren’t just for fitness or sightseeing; they’re more like walking city guides with stops for food, drinks, entertainment, nightlife and more. You can even search for family- or pet-friendly hikes, too.
Whether you’re looking for something to do that’s local, or while you’re traveling, Kamino makes it easy to search for new and exciting things to do nearby. Each walkable playlist has a set of stops with a list of what to see/do/taste there — basically a good reason why you should check it out!
I played around with Kamino to see if there were any interesting hikes in or around Miami for before/after our upcoming cruise. I was surprised to see more than 10 Hikes for different themes such as cultural and shopping. The Hike that caught my eye though was Calle Ocho - Cuban For a Day in Little Havana — a walking tour that I never considered until seeing it on Kamino. Now, I can’t wait to check out Little Havana and try authentic Cuban coffee and hand-rolled cigars … fun, right!?
Kamino is a great tool to use while planning upcoming trips — it’s easy to integrate Hikes into your itinerary for things to do beyond the typical tourist attractions … just think of the gems you could discover!
Here are some Additional Features of Kamino:
- Hikes on the fly: Find awesome new spots wherever you are.
- Expert recommendations: Get insights from travel experts and local gurus on the best hikes in town.
- Local treasures and hidden gems: Discover what you may have missed in your own backyard.
- GPS-guided hikes: Never get lost! Our built-in GPS system will always get you to your destination.
- Hikes tailored to your interests: Find out if a hike is dog-friendly, good for kids, or great for a night out with friends.
- Recommendations: Add your own as you go or when you get to your final destination.
- Create your own hikes: Share your favorite places with friends, family, and your community!
I even made my own Hike for a food/drink walking tour for visitors of Sarasota – St. Armands/Lido Beach on the 4th of July. The tour starts in St. Armands with stops for appetizers and beverages around the circle and takes you to Lido Beach for sunset and/or fireworks.
This is one app you’ll have to test out for yourself to see the benefits, but I promise you’ll love it if you’re into exploring new places.
