Earlier this month, during BlogHer, I was invited by MomTrends to EZ Studios in NYC to attend “Night School†with Lands’ End. The event was super-fun and educational — I learned all about the best kids’ products for back-to-school, played dress-up, had a few cocktails, and confirmed my love for the Lands’ End brand.

When it comes to quality clothing and back-to-school necessities, like lunch boxes and backpacks, Lands’ End is hard to beat. My daughter has used the same Lands’ End backpack for the past two years, and while it’s holding up well, I know she wants a change—
While at the event, I got a hands-on look at some new products for new school year, while attending different “courses†in back-to-school fashion & accessories.
Here’s a quick look at some of the courses I passed (Yay! I got an A+), along with new products from Lands’ End:
A Lesson in … Pants
Lands’ End has one of the most genius ideas ever in their new line of kids’ jeans and pants. It’s called Iron Knee, where each knee is reinforced with an invisible patch on the inside of the garment. If your kids play rough, you know how easily pants can wear. Iron Knee pants were washed over 50 times before being tested by kids for wear and tear. The claim is that your kids will outgrow the jeans/pants before the knees wear out.
A Lesson in … Backpacks
As stated above, we were already fans of Lands’ End backpacks because they last longer than others we have purchased– but what kid wants to use the same backpack year, after year, after year? This year, there are some cute new patterns with lots of color pop.
We were gifted with a Lands’ End backpack for completing each course and I chose the Kids’ Multi Dot Classmate for my daughter — it’s adorable in person! Each backpack can hold up to 20 pounds of stuff!!
First Day of School Looks
In the course, “Design Your First Day”, we had a challenge to see who could create the best back-to-school look. Though I didn’t win, I think my outfit is very cute and I know my daughter would love it. If only I had added tights…
Lands’ End has a great new selection of separates made for mixing and matching.
Healthy Lunch Options
Â
Chef Sam Talbot (Top Chef) schooled us in how to make healthy and easy lunches using recipes kids’ already love — like peanut butter and fresh blueberries instead of jelly. Happy Family was also there with their organic line of freeze-dried fruits and veggies for kids that are easy to pack in the new Lands’ End MadBox Lunchbox, which is insulated to keep foods cold for up to 5 hours! We really need one of these…
Dresses for MomÂ
Finally, we had some fun playing dress up! Lands’ End was awesome enough to treat each mom to either a 3/4-sleeve Jersey Dress or a 3/4-sleeve Knit Sheath Dress — I chose the Jersey Dress in Garnet and I LOVE it! One of the things I love most about Lands’ End for Women is that they carry petite sizes… this style is adorable for fall and can either be dressed up or down. The quality, as always, is excellent!

I received a Lands’ End backpack and dress for attending the event. All opinions are my own.
