I just got back from a fabulous 5-night Carnival Cruise aboard the Carnival Fantasy. While the Fantasy might not be a new ship, it does have a new home port in Charleston, South Carolina!
The Carnival Fantasy is the first year-round cruise from the Port of Charleston.
Now, families from the southeast and midwest won’t have to travel to Florida to sail to the Bahamas!
Itineraries
Carnival Fantasy has a new schedule of five, six and seven-day voyages from Charleston.
- Five-day voyages will sail Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will visit Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas.
- Six-day voyages set sail on Saturdays and visit Freeport, Nassau and Key West, Fl.
- Seven-day voyages also set sail on Saturdays, but visit Grand Turk, the private island of Half Moon Cay, and Nassau.
The Ship
Carnival Fantasy received a major makeover in September 2008. New additions include WaterWorks Aqua Park with a 300-foot-long water slide, dual racing slides and spray apparatus for the little ones; Serenity, an adults-only area with two whirlpools; a redesigned resort-style main pool on the Lido deck; and a 9-hole miniature golf course on the sports deck.
The namesake vessel in Carnival’s Fantasy-class can hold up to 2,056 passengers and offers a wide variety of programs and activities for children, teens and adults.
My family experienced one of the first sailings from Charleston as part of a media group hosted by Carnival. I will be sharing our entire adventure aboard the Carnival Fantasy and our visit to Charleston, Freeport and Nassau- stay tuned!
