Things were going great last week. My daughter just got out of school and I was planning to take her to Busch Gardens Sesame Street Safari of Fun to kick off spring break.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The night before, our !%#* cat, Coco, scratched my husbands eye while he was looking for the remote under the bed. That little cat scratch led to an ER trip, which led to 4 days out of work for my husband. Nice. Did I mention I want that cat gone?
Then my desktop starts acting up. It looks to be a virus that keeps coming back after I run all my scans. I decided to do some work on the Dell Mini instead, but guess what? That thing crashed too. Totally dead. Like won't even start, black screen, no operating system found dead. Grrr..
How could I possibly lose 2 computers in the same day?
I contacted Dell support, which gave me no support, and the woman even hung up on my husband (the one with a cat-scratched eye) when he asked to speak to a supervisor. I feel like Dell is trying to pull some kind of scam to run "diagnostics tests" on computers that are out of warranty. Basically, I have to give them 50 bucks before they will even talk to me. Then, if they can't solve my computer problem (which is likely) I'm out $50. Seriously? Wouldn't it be better to refund my money, or even put it towards repair costs? I feel like Dell is only about the bottom line and their relationship to the customer is gone. Sadly, I have been with Dell for over 10 years with at least 6 computers purchased. There should be a customer loyalty line where I don't have to wait and can talk to someone who actually lives in the US and English is their first language...even someone friendly and helpful would do.
It's a bummer as I am going to NYC next week and would loved to have done a little blogging on my flight.
That HP Vivienne Tam is looking pretty sweet right now! :::drool:::

That really is too bad! I've had good experiences with my Dell Computers and haven't had to get tech support - yet! I just hope if/when I do, they are better to me. But, I've heard this same story from others - so I don't know!

Booo for all the bad things. I am sad to hear about Dell, as I have only had good experiences with them. My previous laptop was an HP (it was a bit cheaper) and I had nothing but problems with them and their tech support. Just my two cents...hope things get better! 🙂
