Family game night is a great way to strengthen the bonds that keep us connected as a family. We try to have family game night as often as possible, with a goal of at least 2-3 weekend nights a month. It's a way to get everyone off of their phones and tablets. Rather than looking at a screen, we look at each other and enjoy our time together as a family.
Family Game Night Fun
Family game night is all about fun for us. We're like almost every family out there — Super. Busy. I'm sure you can relate! We're all go, all the time, so having a family game night is a great way for us to spend time together doing something we love. Between after school activities, work, shopping, and the hundreds of other things that go into our normal week, we NEED this night to let loose and have a bit of fun.
Hedbanz
My daughter has been asking to play Hedbanz for awhile now, and we've played our current games what seems like dozens of times, so I thought I would mix things up and surprise her with this new game, which I picked up at Target.
Hedbanz is a guessing game that's fun for all ages. The box says ages 7+, but I bet kids a bit younger could get in on the fun too. The concept is that each player wears a headband with a card, which they cannot see. The card has a cartoon image in which the wearer has to ask questions, and then tries to guess what's on their card before time is up. The images range from animals and food, to household objects ... and everything else in between. It's great fun because everyone else knows what's on the card— this can lead to a ton of laughs as the player tries to guess their image.
I'm really glad my daughter chose Hedbanz for our most recent family game night because it was a ton of fun. I enjoyed that it was easy to play with minimal set-up and no set time limit. There was a good dose of laughing and giggling going on, and because of this, we didn't even keep score! It was seriously a fun night and I can't wait to do it again — these are my favorite family memories!
Make Family Game Night Part of Your Routine
I think every family should partake in a game night. It's so important to keep the family bond together. We're aiming to have family game night weekly, and to mix things up we've started incorporating Spin Master games into our routine. We loved Hedbanz and will definitely play again, but we there are other great Spin Master games we're looking to try, including:
- Quelf - There's only one rule - Obey the Card. This fun-filled party game is great for a night of laughter and fun.
- Would You Rather - The ultimate ice-breaking party game. Discuss, debate, and laugh your way to the finish line with Would You Rather.
You can get all of these great Spin Master Games and then some at Amazon, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, and ToysRUs. So go out and pick up Hedbanz, Quelf, Would You Rather, or any of Spin Master's other great games and get in on the family game night fun!
