As we’re closing in on the end year, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Netflix streams from 2013. From movies to TV shows, Netflix really delivered to my family this past year. I would venture to guess that we’ve spent 90% of our TV time on Netflix vs. cable. My daughter enjoys all of the kids programming, my husband watches just about every horror movie, and when I get hooked on a series, there’s no going back…
In no particular order, here are my favorite Netflix streams from 2013.
Doctor Who – With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who in 2013, I couldn’t not go back and watch series 1 through 6, starting with ninth incarnation of the Doctor. David Tennant will always be my favorite.
Scandal – My love for Scandal actually started on Netflix as I never watched an episode until I started streaming. This was an instant hit for me and Scandal is now one of the only TV shows I watched weekly. Thank you for this great find!
Arrested Development – AR was another new discovery for me in 2013 and I’m not sure how I missed this series when it first debuted 10 years ago. The new Netflix version has a different format, but I still enjoyed all of the antics of the Bluth family. And how great is the cast!?
Orange Is The New Black – I was on the OITNB bandwagon as soon as it premiered. Is it out there? YES! But it’s soooo good and I can’t wait to see what happens in season 2.
Weeds – My husband suggested Weeds after I finished Arrested Development and I’m glad he did. The show was really good for the first 5 or 6 seasons and then it took a lackluster turn … but it was my first introduction to Guillermo DÃaz— who I now love on Scandal.
Portlandia –Â I watched Portlandia pre-Netflix, but now that I can stream seasons 1-3, I find myself going back to re-watch my favorites when I need a laugh. One day I’ll find out if the 90’s are really alive in Portland!
