Squee! I've got some exciting news that I've been holding in for a while now. Tomorrow, I will be leaving for Orlando to attend my first-ever Red Carpet Premiere!
Yes, I know-- Red Carpet events are usually held in LA or NYC, but this is a super unique engagement to celebrate the release of Disneynature’s Chimpanzee -- in theaters on Earth Day!
Chimpanzee is the fourth, True-Life Adventure, release for Disneynature. It follows an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. Oscar’s playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family —including his mom and the group’s savvy leader — navigates the complex territory of the forest.

Besides previewing the movie, I'll be interviewing ... wait for it ... Dr. Jane Goodall (!!!), the directors of Chimpanzee, Alastair Fothergill & Mark Linfield, and the McClain sisters (featuring China Anne from Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm), who sing "Rise" from the movie. UPDATE! Read my Chimpanzee Movie Review.
But, that's not all! For five fun-filled days, I will be swinging from the treetops (literally!) and trekking deep into the Animal Kingdom with 19 other mom bloggers for a #DisneyGlobalEvent sponsored by Global Resort Homes (our pad for the trip) and the Kissimmee CVB.
Here are just a few of the activities on our agenda:
- Ziplining Adventure at Florida EcoSafaris
- Boggy Creek Airboat Tour
- Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom
- Boat Ride and Hiking on Mackinson Island
It's sure to be a WILD event and I can't wait to share my adventures with you! You can follow me and the other bloggers on Twitter at #DisneyGlobalEvent.
Oh ... and to/from Orlando, I'll be driving a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento EX!
Special thanks to Walt Disney Pictures, Global Resort Homes and the Kissimmee CVB for sponsoring this event. All opinions are my own.
