Grandma's Molasses Crinkle Cookies are thick & chewy, with crackled, sugary tops, and perfect for holiday baking! Enjoy this homemade Molasses Crinkle Cookies recipe that has been passed down through generations. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bob’s Red Mill.
My mother-in-law, Toni, passed away a little under two years ago. When my husband and I went to recover a few of her belongings, the very first item we made sure to have was her box of recipes.
Since we lived out of town, most of my memories of Toni were during the holidays. Every year, the day after Christmas, we would go and visit her and her husband, where she would make a grand holiday meal with all the trimmings.
She was an excellent cook, and always made sure to prepare my husband’s favorite side dishes and desserts from his childhood.
I think baking is where she really shined, and have great memories of her making cookies with my daughter. Even in the later years, when she wasn’t feeling her best, she still made every effort to bake and decorate Christmas cookies with her granddaughter.
Looking back, I know why it was so important to her, as now my daughter has those wonderful memories of her baking with her Mimi.
Needless to say, Toni’s recipe box was essential for us to have. It not only contains her recipes, but those of her mother-- basically a treasure trove of handwritten and typed note cards that have been passed down for generations.
This is my second holiday season with her recipe box and I thought it was finally time to take it out and put it to good use.
My father-in-law has been raving about Toni’s molasses cookies for years. When Bob’s Red Mill invited me to work on a holiday baking campaign, I instantly knew which cookie recipe I was going bake.
I thought it would be a nice gesture to share my love to my father-in-law with a gift of freshly baked cookies made with Bob’s Red Mill products — the highest quality that make baked goods truly shine!

This was my first time baking Molasses Crinkle Cookies and they were outstanding! On the recipe card there was a note that described the cookies as "thick, chewy, with crackled, sugary tops", and I don’t think there could be a better description.
These molasses cookies are soft and chewy and have all the flavors of the holidays! It’s clear as to why they were a favorite of my husband’s and his dad. It brings a smile to my face that I can replicate his mom’s famous cookies — I know she is looking down with approval!
