As moms, we work hard and deserve some time out for ourselves to get pampered. I like to call these pamper days. Fitting, right? It wasn't until this year that I started to really focus on “me” and found the benefit of spending a little extra time and money on pampering myself. I've found that I'm now calmer and more relaxed on a regular basis. This benefits everyone. When I find myself getting stressed, I check out one of the daily deal sites and look for spa deals.
It's my new favorite guilty pleasure.
There's nothing more satisfying than purchasing a deal for 50, 60 or even 75% off the retail price. My favorite spa deals are for massages, but I also love facials, haircuts and mani/pedis. You can also (usually) purchase extra deals as gifts, and I can’t think of a better gift than a spa day.
Even if you don't have the extra money to spend on a spa day, you still deserve a little pampering. One of my favorite ways to pamper myself at home is to make a face mask using fresh ingredients. My favorite is made from avocado.
Avocados are a nourishing fruit, both inside and out.
To make an avocado face mask, mash ½ avocado in 1 teaspoon honey and 1 tablespoon plain yogurt. Once mixed, spread on clean skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water once finished. You'll feel more relaxed, and your skin will feel cool and calm.
