This Rosemary Infused Olive Oil recipe is perfect for gift giving this holiday season. Infusing your own olive oil with fresh herbs for dressings, marinades and dipping is one of the latest food trends. This post is brought to you by Pompeian for #TrendingintheKitchen.

Homemade holiday gifts are really popular right now. But you don’t have to spend a lot of money or be super crafty to impress family and friends.

This holiday season I’m making rosemary infused olive oil for few special people in my life. The idea came from a local restaurant where the bread service was accompanied by whole roasted garlic, to use as a spread, and rosemary olive oil for drizzling. The combination was absolutely divine, not to mention ridiculously simple to recreate!

As I’ve been in a partnership with Pompeian for almost two years now, it was a no-brainer that I would use Pompeian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil as my base.

Pompeian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is ideal as a table condiment for dipping bread or crudité, and works incredibly well in dressings, salads and vinaigrettes. It’s one of my favorite olive oils from Pompeian, so I know my friends will love it, too.

To make rosemary infused olive oil you only need two ingredients, but since the olive oil is going to be gifted, I picked up some clear oil bottles (with pourer) and holiday twine to enhance the presentation.

Rosemary Infused Olive Oil Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Pompeian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3-4 sprigs fresh rosemary per bottle

Additional materials:

  • Olive oil bottle with pourer
  • Ribbon, twine or bow for gifting

This recipe doesn't include exact measurements as you only need to use as much olive oil as the size of your bottle(s).

How to make rosemary infused olive oil:

1. Heat olive oil and rosemary in a saucepan over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.

2. Let cool completely.

3. Add heated rosemary springs to bottle, if desired. Funnel infused rosemary olive oil into bottle(s).

4. Refrigerate.

While doing research on making homemade infused olive oil, I learned that there is a risk of bacteria if the infusion isn’t prepared property or used in a short period of time. This is most prevalent in garlic infused olive oil, which this has none of, but to be extra safe, tell recipients to store rosemary infused olive in in the refrigerator and use within a month.
