Today my daughter had a 5 year old check up that also included her shots for kindergarten. I am usually prepared for these things and I knew she needed shots, I just didn't know how many.
After her physical exam with the doctor, the nurse comes in with 5 needles and a little finger pricker thingy.
My little Princess knew what was ahead of her and had a very sad look on her face. 🙁
I about started to cry, and then the nurse started jabbing her in the arms with the shots. 3 in one arm, 2 in the other.
Hearing my daughter cry like that made me lose it. I felt so bad for putting her through that pain, and at 5 years, that's about the only pain she has ever felt. Since obviously I am pro vax, this was just something we had to do, but it still hurts me as a mom.
The 5 immunizations she had were MMR, Hep. B, DTaP, Chicken Pox, and IPV.
The good news is (besides her being healthy) is we recieved our blue and yellow health forms so we can now register for KINDERGARTEN!
After that they gave her a bag of cookies, and 2 stickers and sent us on our way. I know dd was happy to get out of there.
