Where we’re at: Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
My family is having a fabulous time at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. We are staying in a studio room with a great view of the pool.
This is our first time at one of the off-site Disney Vacation Club properties.
To be honest, it took us a few hours to adjust to the fact that we were staying at a Disney Resort without actually being at Disney World. I consider Disney’s Vero Beach to be “Disney Lite”, as the property has magical Disney touches without being over the top. This is a resort for relaxation. There is no itinerary or rides and the main attraction is the beach.
Our day has gone something like this: Wake up — breakfast at Shutters (Mickey waffles and a breakfast burrito) — swim in the pool — beach break — round of mini golf — lunch poolside — more pool time — sandcastles on the beach — nap.
Tonight we will have dinner with a view of the ocean at The Green Cabin Room and then, probably, a walk on the beach. A far cry from a day in the Disney parks — and after a week in Disney World, I can’t think of a better place to come and relax. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is only 2 hours from Walt Disney World.
I think what I love most (so far) about Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is that it has forced my family to relax and enjoy each others company.
