I've had my Palm Pre Plus for about a month now and I am loving it more and more every day. I'm finding that this is the perfect phone for the mom on the go- whether it's down the street or across the country.
Here are a few apps and features I think are especially useful for the traveling mom.
Google Maps
This free app brings the power of Google Maps right to your phone. My favorite use for Google Maps is driving directions- Just type in your destination and the app will take you step by step from your current location. I find the map feature the most useful as I can just take a quick look to see my turns rather than reading the directions. The maps are very easy to read, and it just take a "tap" to zoom in. I would be lost without this 🙂
VZ Navigator
VZ Navigator is a service I have yet to try but I can see how this would come in handy when traveling to a new location. For $9.99 per month (or $2.99 per day), VZ Navigator gives you audible turn- by-turn directions with traffic information to nearly 14 million points of interest. Also includes auto-rerouting if you make a wrong turn. Global version available for traveling to Europe.
Weather Channel App
If you're a weather junkie (like myself), you will definitely want to download the Weather Channel app. This free app gives you the current temperature, weather condition and 10 day forecast for your current location...wherever that may be.
3G Mobile Hotspot
For an extra $40 per month Mobile Hotspot provides Wi-Fi for up to 5 enabled devices. The good news is this feature can be shared with up to 4 other people and can be activated on and off as needed. Free downloaded app required.
