My daughter has been watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern nonstop for the last week on Netflix. An odd choice for a seven-year-old, but I think she is just now discovering the wonderful world of food and travel. It was only natural that she asked me what the most bizarre thing I've ever ate was. And I had to stop and think. I'm pretty adventurous, but I haven't had too many opportunities to eat something totally out there. The most bizarre thing I could come up with was Chapulines in Mexic0. At the time, I didn't realize that I was eating fried grasshoppers (mixed in with the salad), but if I had known, I would have happily captured it on video.
What's the most "bizarre" food you've ever eaten?
Penelope
I have a sensitive stomach, so not really too exotic…I had escargot and was surprised at how YUMMY it was, I just have to remember not to think about what it actually is.

Oh Penelope, escargot is SO yummy -- especially when it's drenched in butter and garlic!

Wow! Yeah, I'm not at all an adventurous eater. I've already given my husband notice that he'd be on food challenge duty if ever we were to make it on Amazing Race. 🙂

I love trying new things. I escargot so far has been the weirdest thing for me. But I try to taste new things all the time!
