Photo Friday: Chapulines

My daughter has been watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern nonstop for the last week on Netflix. An odd choice for a seven-year-old, but I think she is just now discovering the wonderful world of food and travel. It was only natural that she asked me what the most bizarre thing I’ve ever ate was. And I had to stop and think. I’m pretty adventurous, but I haven’t had too many opportunities to eat something totally out there. The most bizarre thing I could come up with was Chapulines in Mexic0. At the time, I didn’t realize that I was eating fried grasshoppers (mixed in with the salad), but if I had known, I would have happily captured it on video.

What’s the most “bizarre” food you’ve ever eaten?
