The holidays are quickly sneaking upon us, and if you're like me, you're just starting to prepare for holiday entertaining on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. This year I'm serving a variety of little appetizers, along with honey baked ham sandwiches (on mini Hawaiian rolls!), instead of the traditional ham or turkey with all the fixins'. Am I taking the easy way out? Yes! But I've noticed that my family enjoys more "little bites"-- like cheese & crackers, dips and puff pastries-- and by the time we are done snacking, much of our big holiday meal is packed away as leftovers...which we never eat!
Sam's Club has always been my go-to for holiday entertaining and if there is one thing I'm guaranteed to find, it's elegant (and affordable!) appetizers that can be made in a snap!
Here's just a few of the offerings that I found at my local Sam's Club:
I left with 30 Mini Crab Cakes ($9.98), a 45-piece Gourmet Appetizer Collection ($12.98), a Double Sharp Cheddar Cheese Log ($5.98) and a Castle Wood Honey Sliced Ham ($17). I'm pretty sure I will be back this week for the Bacon Wrapped Scallops (12.98) and a Cheesecake Factory Red Velvet Cheesecake (16.98)!
Even though Christmas is not for another 5 days, I HAD to do a little pre-holiday taste test 😉
I love that Sam's Club appetizers are made of high quality ingredients, yet they are simple to make-- just a few minutes in the oven and you have gourmet hors d'oeuvres! They are also individually wrapped so you can pick and choose which ones you want to prepare.
I decided to try one of each!
20 minutes later I had a plate of small bites that I just couldn't resist...
Shown on plate: 5 Mini Crab Cakes, 2 Four Cheese & Roasted Garlic Palmiers, 2 Raspberry & Brie Phyllo Roses, 2 Chicken & Feta Phyllo Cups, and 2 Three Cheese & Sweet Red Pepper Puff Pastries.
And neither could my family. They were gone in no time.
We enjoyed every little bite and I think we are all looking forward to more on Christmas day-- Luckily, I have another trip to Sam's Club planned this week!
Sam's Club will make holiday entertaining a breeze for me this year. I love that, for once, I can spend less time in the kitchen and more time with the ones I love!
Are you preparing any apps in a snap this holiday? I would love to know what you are serving your guests 🙂
I was provided with a Sam’s Club gift card to purchase items for "Apps in a Snap”. All opinions are my own.
