Saving the Holiday Season with Duracell

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Duracell & Toys "R" Us. The opinions and text are all mine. The holiday season is upon us. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or another holiday, chances are you'll be giving gifts. If your holiday season gifting involves battery operated toys, make sure you gift the batteries, as well. There's nothing more frustrating to a kid than a toy that doesn't work!

Holiday Season - Duracell Saves the Day

I'm sure we've all done it. I know I have. You got an awesome gift for one of the kids in your life. Maybe it was some kind of board game or a toy car. The problem is, it needed batteries. Did we get the batteries? Nope. That's when the joy of the holiday season becomes the frustration of the holiday season! Recently we gave my daughter an Obi-Wan Kenobi Ultimate FX Lightsaber Toy to play with in anticipation of the new Star Wars film. We're a huge Star Wars loving family, so this gift was already on her must-have list. I thought I'd gift it to her without the batteries, to see her reaction. Needless to say she was not amused! What's the point of owning a lightsaber that doesn't light up!? duracell1 Thankfully, I had packs of Duracell batteries on hand to save the day — but could you imagine if I had actually forgotten the batteries for a much-wanted holiday gift!?  duracell2

Save Money this Holiday Season with Duracell, Hasbro, and Disney

This holiday season, Duracell, Hasbro, and Disney are teaming up with Toys"R"Us to help you save money on this season's hottest toys like Star Wars. You'll save on the toys and on the batteries you need to make them work for the girl or boy in your life. With Duracell batteries, that new Star Wars Lightsaber will be powered up and ready for battle with this glowing blade and awesome sound effects. duracell3   This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Duracell & Toys "R" Us. The opinions and text are all mine.

Yes! I had given toys to my two nephews for Christmas and forgot the batteries. I felt so bad. The kids asked their parents if they had batteries and they didn't. I was quite embarrassed and learned to always gift batteries with kids gifts.

Truthfully - now. My mom always bought then when they were on Safeway Airmiles, and now I buy that at Costco. In fact, around Christmas, my future mother in law always asks me to pick her up a package - she divvies it up into all the stockings! 🙂

There have been many times that I have forgot the batteries and the tears began to flow. I now buy batteries at the same time and tape them to the box or package before wrapping so I don't cause any more disappointment.

Yes, there were many times when I gorgot to purchase batteries for a gift, mainly because I overlooked the fact that it needed batteries, which are never included. The reaction is always disappointment, if I don't have batteries on hand to use right away for them.

I have forgotten batteries once, but we just took a set out of a remote that was not being used and bought new batteries the next time we went to the store. No disappointment if you can hunt some spares down! Now we buy batteries on sale around the holidays to have on hand just in case.

I forgot the batteries in 1998.My daughter was born on Christmas day in 1997 so it was her 1st birthday and her first real Christmas. I had gotten her a teddy bear that played music. She did not even know it was supposed to do anything so all was good but it taught me a lesson and I have not forgotten since.
