I know I am a little late putting these up, but our back-to-school transition hasn't been an easy one. Not even a week into the new school year, my daughter got sick. What started with a sore throat last week, ended with a five day fever and a trip to the doctor-- plus three missed days of school.
Not a good way to start the school year.
I find it rather interesting that we can travel all summer together, on multiple planes and week long cruise, and not get sick once. Then, four days into school and already running a fever!? Coincidentally, I made a back to school cold and flu kit for a campaign from Collective Bias this week that couldn't have come at a better time. If you haven't made one, I would suggest doing so, they are a lifesaver.
Now that she's back back in school, she has a ton of make-up work and I really feel for her.
Oh, the life of a second-grader.

This is one of the reasons that I homeschool. The 5 years that my DD was in regular school....the entire family was sick on and off all school year long. DD had weird bouts of illnesses I'd never heard of and then pneumonia really bad two times in a row the last year she was attending. After 5 years you'd have thought she'd build up at least somewhat of an immunity to the germs.
It's funny...we frequently go to Walt Disney World with people from all over the world and don't catch a thing but schools...seem to just breed the "creepy crud". Hope her lil self stays well the rest of the year...

Yes, I never want to back school again.
