For various reasons, I have cut out cow’s milk over the last year, replacing it with Silk Pure Almond and Coconut Milk. I’ve found that they’re both great substitutions, even enhancing the taste of my cereal and coffee in the morning. But the one place Silk really shines is in smoothies and other blended beverages – even my milk-loving daughter agrees that I make an amazing chocolate-banana-peanut butter shake with Silk Pure Almond Chocolate.
This recipe is a variation of the Nutty Chocolate Kiss (made with Nutella!) on the Silkology Facebook page:
(Blend all ingredients until smooth)
- 1 cup Pure Almond Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
- 1 tablespoon Peanut Butter
- ¼ medium Banana
- 1-1 ½ teaspoon Honey
- ½ cup Ice
In addition to smoothies and shakes, the Silkology page has unique & fun summer cocktail ideas using Silk -- (mostly non-alcoholic – but I’m sure a little vodka or rum would add a kick for entertaining, especially to the Chocola-Di-Da and Pina Colada!). I would definitely serve the Silk Mango Lassi at my next outdoor barbecue and the Summer Splash at an outdoor brunch. I love how Silkologist Bryan Dayton paired fresh herbs and aromatics to bring a new flavor profile to Silk.
Silk inspired me to think outside of the bowl with their new Silkology-inspired drink recipes. Tell me something new you want to try this summer when entertaining to win a Silkology prize package, which will include 'Silk for a Year' (24 certificates for a free half gallon - a $4.99 value each) and an entertaining drink set.
