smokey mesquite bbq burgers

A few weeks ago I shared my first challenge recipe for the Kraft Fresh Take Flavor Makers program - Smokey Mesquite BBQ Chicken Salad. The challenge was to create a weeknight friendly meal using Kraft Fresh Take. The finished product was a super tasty, restaurant quality salad that my whole family loved.

This week I'm back with a new challenge using Kraft Fresh Take Smokey Mesquite BBQ --

kraft fresh take challenge

I decided to use ground beef as my protein to make a batch of mini burgers that could be enjoyed either as an appetizer or as a lunch-friendly sandwich ... perfectly sized for kids!

Smokey Mesquite BBQ Mini Burgers

Here's a video tutorial of the recipe using Kraft Fresh Take and Kraft Honey BBQ sauce, along with a few other fresh ingredients:

As you can see, these mini burgers are easy to whip up in 30 minutes or less. The addition of Kraft Fresh Take Smokey Mesquite BBQ blend gives the burgers a new depth of flavor. Here's the full recipe:

Ingredients (makes 8 mini burgers):

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1 package Kraft Fresh Take Smokey Mesquite BBQ
  • ¼ cup Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce
  • 4 slices cooked bacon strips, cut in half
  • 8 Slider-sized hamburger buns (found in bakery section of grocery)
  • 2 Roma Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce or spinach leaves

bbq burgers ingredients

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, mix 1lb ground beef with ¼ cup Kraft Honey BBQ sauce and Kraft Fresh Take Smokey Mesquite BBQ seasoning pouch (save the cheese pouch for later). Add a bit of salt if desired. Form the ground beef mixture into 8 miniature burger patties and place on a baking pan lined with foil. Bake burgers in oven for 15 minutes at 375. Remove burgers from the oven once fully cooked and top each patty with cheese from the Kraft Fresh Take pouch. Set the oven to broil. Place the burger patties back into the oven for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is super melty. Assemble burgers with bacon pieces, Roma tomato slices and lettuce. Enjoy!

Soon, I will be sharing a special Pinterest board inspired by Smokey Mesquite BBQ, my Kraft Fresh Take variety for the flavor makers program. Along with the board, I will be hosting a $100 giveaway - Stay tuned for details!

KRAFT Foods is providing the prizes for this program at no cost to me and has provided me with a gift of equal value for review.  This program is not administered or sponsored by Kraft Foods or its affiliates, but solely by Mommy Musings. All opinions are my own.
