Summer vacation may seem far off, but it’s right around the corner! My daughter and I are headed to Europe for a 12-day cruise (on the new Carnival Breeze!) in just 5 short weeks and I’m beyond unprepared. There’s still SO MUCH planning that needs to be done– I still haven’t finalized our excursions, or even what we’re going to see in certain ports … It’s a little overwhelming, but I think that adds to the excitement of our first trip abroad together.
Another thing I need to consider is how my daughter is going to handle the ten hour flight to and from Barcelona, Spain. I’m packing all the essentials, including the iPod Touch and Kindle Fire, but I think she’ll also need a non-electronic activity, like book games and crayons.
Netflights has a great blog with a new Summer Holiday Puzzle Pack for Kids — It’s an easy to print out, six page, mini-workbook with connect-the-dots, mazes, a wordsearch, spotting game and color-ins. It’s a great option to bring along for free entertainment — whether you’re taking a car-trip, flight, or just need something to entertain your child for an hour this summer ๐
The Netflights blog also has a great holiday destination guide for families with vacation inspiration, popular destinations, travel tips and age-appropriate travel ideas.
Are you going on a family vacation this summer? Where to?
