- Simply download the Doctor On Demand app on iOS or Android. If you don’t have one of these devices you can use the service directly from www.DoctorOnDemand.com if your computer has a webcam and microphone.
- From there you’ll select what type of doctor you need: Medical, Pediatrics, Psychology or Pregnancy & Newborns. You’ll be connected with a provider licensed in your state.
- You can then schedule an appointment for the time you need, or see a medical doctor right away. The next steps will require you to enter info for the type of illness you’re experiencing, symptoms, and other important questions, like current medications & allergies, that the doctor will need to know before the consultation. You’ll also set up an account and select your preferred pharmacy.
Medical & Pediatric video sessions are $40 each for 15 minutes, and Psychologist and Lactation Consultants start at $50 and $40 respectively.
I don’t know how much your local walk-in clinic is, but mine is $75 with insurance and $125 without. A trip to my primary physician easily costs more than $100 before insurance. Doctor On Demand beats both of those fees and you don’t even have to leave your house!
My husband used Doctor On Demand last week for a sinus infection while I was out of town. He said the app was very easy to use and he received a prescription for antibiotics to our local pharmacy.
The great thing about this was that he was able to get what he needed without me being at home to drive him to the doctor (he’s a bit of a baby when it comes to being seen – don’t tell him I said that!).
I can already foresee us using the service whenever it’s not convenient to get an appointment with our primary doctor.
