It's easy to take the little things for granted -- like vitamins and nutrition. Most of us don't have to worry about our children not getting enough vitamins due to being undernourished. The sad reality is that an estimated 190 million children under five suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD), a major underlying cause of child mortality.

Throughout the month of July, Whole Foods Market is partnering with Vitamin Angels to donate vitamins to at-risk populations who need it the most— pregnant women, new mothers and children under five.

When you purchase any Whole Foods Market or 365 Everyday Value supplements in stores this month, Whole Foods Market will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels--  it only takes 25 cents to provide vitamin A to an at-risk child for an entire year!

Select products from brands like Amazing Grass, Garden of Life, Jarrow Formulas, Nordic Naturals, Reserveage and Source Naturals will also be donating a portion of their sales to Vitamin Angels.

With your help, Vitamin Angels hopes to reach 30 million children with vitamin A this year.

As a Whole Foods shopper, I love that WFM has continued their partnership with Vitamin Angels for the fourth year. It's so easy to go to the store and buy a bottle of 365 Everyday Value supplements (at a great price!), while helping an at-risk child receive two doses of Vitamin A -- the amount needed to alleviate a vitamin A deficiency in a child under 5. As we enter the second half of this month, I hope you'll be a Vitamin Angel by picking up a bottle of participating vitamins at Whole Foods Market.

I just learned something new thanks to you. I had no idea that there was such a worldwide deficiency of Vitamin A. Thankful that Whole Foods is doing something about it.

Such a simple thing that most of us never worry about. In fact, we sometimes have worry about getting too much vitamin A!
