I can't believe that just two days ago, I was walking the red carpet for Disney's newest animated feature BIG HERO 6 at the famous El Capitan theater in Hollywood, California! The evening was one to remember, for sure!
Disney always goes all out for their Hollywood premieres, and BIG HERO 6 was no exception. This was actually my first experience walking a RED colored carpet— though I have attended two other premiere events at the El Capitan theater, the carpets have both been white (FROZEN & FRANKENWEENIE).
The entrance of the red carpet to the El Capitan Theater was highlighted by an enormous mock-bridge straight out of San Fransokyo, the futuristic world of BIG HERO 6.
Celebrities, filmakers and guests mixed and mingled on the red carpet in a somewhat more casual fashion than previous events I have attended. Instead of being quickly rushed along by security, myself and the 24 other mom bloggers in attendance were able to take our time walking, and taking pictures, from beginning to end.
Here's a few photos from the Big HERO 6 red carpet event.

After spending some time outside people watching, we made our way into the El Capitan Theater for the big event. I can't wait to tell you all about BIG HERO 6 tomorrow, November 7 — once the movie officially opens in theaters. I can tell you that it's my new favorite Disney film, and that says a lot because I was (and still am) completely obsessed with FROZEN.
My favorite part of these Hollywood premieres is the very end, when the credits begin to roll out. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, like being seated among all of the writers, directors, actors, animators and other talent that have poured months, and sometimes years into the making of the film. As a group everyone claps as the names scroll across the screen... it seriously gives me chills, and I have to pinch myself for even being included in the experience.
The after party for BIG HERO 6 was hosted off-site at Yamashiro Hollywood, a gorgeous Japanese restaurant in the Hollywood Hills with amazing panoramic views — it was the perfect location!
I'm really quite shy when it comes to celebrities, so I did a lot of celeb-spotting rather than asking for photos. Kevin Smith was right behind me in the sushi line, and Katie Lowes was at the table next to mine— just being there was enough! In addition to sushi and other Asian fare, there were BIG HERO 6 games and activities for guest to enjoy, as well as some ADORABLE cupcakes.
I truly had the best time and I'm so thankful for the experience. I'd like to thank Walt Disney Studios for hosting me. As always, all opinions are my own.
