I love making gifts for others for the holidays and this easy Farm Truck Garland in a jar kit gift idea is so practical, I love it!
To be honest, this cute Christmas farm truck banner is probably one of my absolute favorite crafts because it's SO easy. Literally cut it, glue it, and hang it.
You can do all of the cuts with a Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker, or you can do them by hand, it doesn't matter which.
And if you plan instead to make this craft a gift, by giving it as a kit, you're giving the gift of taking a relaxing few minutes to do the fun part of crafting! See why I love it?!
So, if you're ready to heat up your glue gun and make a fun Christmas garland, let's get making!
Easy Farm Truck Garland in a Jar Kit Gift Idea
So, I had this idea to make several different Christmas banners this year. Why several? Well, I wanted to give a couple as gifts, but I also have some fun ideas to decorate using garlands.
- Mantle Drape - Literally draping the farm truck Christmas garland across the mantel, in front of or behind the kids' stockings or even on either side of them.
- Christmas Tree Garland - Instead of having plain store-bought garland, I want to wrap my tree in handmade garlands that really capture the spirit of Christmas.
- Window Bunting - For anyone who decorates for Christmas, you have to know that decorating windows can be a tricky situation. But having a garland to stretch across your curtains or even an open window makes decorating them a snap!

How to Make This Easy Farm Truck Garland in a Jar Kit Gift Idea
- Make your jar first by trimming your napkin to fit nicely on the jar. I cut off 3 of the four sides, leaving just the clean truck.
- Coat the jar with a layer of mod podge, then immediately place the prepared farm truck napkin on the surface of the jar. Take care to place it carefully because the napkin is thin and fragile--and will tear if you try to move it after the napkin comes in contact with the mod podge.
- Coat the napkin-covered jar with a second layer of mod podge, just to provide extra protection for the napkin. Allow this second layer of mod podge to dry completely.
- Download the cut file set and upload them to Cricut Design Space. Follow the instructions to cut out the desired number of truck bodies with two tire wells per truck from red craft felt, two tires per truck from black craft felt, 1 wood rail per truck from brown craft felt, two trees per truck from green felt and one tree trunk per tree from brown craft felt.
- Assemble the trees by hot gluing the trunks to the front side of the tree trunk. Assemble the trucks by hot gluing the tire wells over each tire space and one tire behind the truck in the same space, then glue the rail on the bed of the truck and glue a tree in the bed as well.
- Cut out the desired pennant shapes from the burlap. I cut out pennants with two tails, but you can do single tails, rectangles with no tails, diamonds or anything.
- Hot glue the trucks and trees to the burlap pennants.
- Place the pennants in the order you plan to have in the final project.
- Cut the twine or string to the length of the pennants all laid-out, plus 1 foot on each side, for additional space.
- Hot glue the pennants in place on the twine.
- Hang on the mantle!
And that's it! So fast and easy then you have this perfect little decoration for your Christmas mantle. If you love this Christmas craft as much as I do, be sure to pin it to your favorite holiday crafts board on Pinterest so you can find it fast when you're ready to make it!
