I sincerely love making wreaths to decorate for each season and this DIY Mickey Reindeer Wreath is a fantastic winter craft!
There's just something about having a beautiful touch of homemade charm on the door that you switch out for each holiday.
And the fact that I can make this Mickey Reindeer Wreath, enjoy it this winter, then either store it for next year or take it apart and make a new wreath for a new holiday? FABULOUS!
I love having flexibility like that.
So if you're ready to make a DIY winter wreath you're going to love having on your door, let's get started.

Tips to Make a Mickey Reindeer Wreath
If you have never worked with a grapevine wreath before, put down the hot glue gun! One of the best things about making a wreath from a grapevine wreath form is that flexibility we were talking about. But if you glue all of your decorations onto the grapevine wreath, you're looking at being stuck (literally) with this initial design.
The next thing to remember is that, with a rustic winter wreath like this one, less can be so much more. Don't go overboard with your decorations because you want the grapevine part to be pretty visible. It's part of the rustic charm of the wreath!
If you can only find two right or two left reindeer antler picks, don't panic. I have a secret: mine are both lefties. The craft stores appear to be only stocking one or the other (not both sides). So, just use it and keep going - no one is going to notice (except you because you've been told now LOL!).
What You Need to Make a Mickey Reindeer Wreath
- 1 - 12-inch Grapevine Wreath
- 2 - 6-inch Grapevine Wreaths
- Raffia-Wrapped Floral Wire
- 2 Antler Picks
- 2 Faux Holly Picks
- 3-inch Red Plaid Ribbon
- Wire Cutters

How to Make a Mickey Reindeer Wreath
- Lay the larger wreath in the center of your table and position the two smaller wreaths on either side of the larger wreath, about 6-8 inches apart.
- Using the raffia-wrapped floral wire, wrap the wire around the point where the small wreath and large wreath join on each side, snugly joining the two.
- Slide the ends of the antler picks into the top of larger grapevine wreath, between the ears. Twist the ends of the antler picks around and tightly wrap them around the wreath, so that they are affixed snugly.
- With the floral wire, affix the faux holly picks to the bottom of the wreath, securing them snugly.
- Make a bow with your plaid ribbon, using the floral wire to secure the center. Use the tails of the wire securing the center of this bow to secure the bow to the center bottom of the wreath. Hang on the door and enjoy!
No, really, that's it! So, grab a grapevine wreath - oh, wait! You're not ready to make this winter wreath yet? Oh, well, just pin it to your favorite winter crafts board on Pinterest so you can find it again easy and quick when you are ready to break out that grapevine wreath!
