These Mickey Christmas Cookies were such a hit with the kiddos that I had to immediately make more. Total. Mom. Win.
One of the best part about making these Mickey Christmas cookies though is how easy they are. Simple enough that the kids can get involved in helping. No REALLY!
The kids can help dip the cookies into the candy melts, they can sprinkle on the sprinkles or even add the more specific decorations. All of this because the chocolate won't ever get hot enough to burn - if it did that, you'd be dealing with an inflexible lump!
So, get the kids and let's get making some Mickey cookies for Christmas.

Tips to Make Your Mickey Christmas Cookies the Easiest Ever
- Don't skimp on getting the melting chocolate discs I know it's tempting to buy regular chocolate chips and just adding food coloring, but don't do it! It's not worth the headache. Just get the melting chips that are pre-colored.
- Now, a lot of people are all about that prepackaged fudge-covered OREO this year. But the deal is, first, they're white. So then you're stuck with white cookies. And the mini-OREO cookies aren't white. So, you're not really working with Mickey. So, regular OREOs are where I started.
What You Need to Make Mickey Christmas Cookies
- 1 package Red Candy Melts
- 1 package Green Candy Melts
- 12-14 OREO Cookies
- 1 package Mini OREO Cookies
- Christmas Sprinkles Blend
- Minnie Bow Icing Decorations
How to Make Mickey Christmas Cookies
- Place red candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and melt per the directions on the package. Take care not to overheat, however if you do, you can add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to help emulsify the chocolate again. Repeat with the green candy melts. Place the melted green candy melts into a piping bag with a small round decorating tip.
- Dip the bottom ½ of the large OREO cookies into the red candy melts and set on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place a line of green candy melt on the bottom of two of the mini OREO cookies and immediately place on the top of a large OREO cookie, one on either side to make ears.
- Add sprinkles to the cooling red chocolate, as desired.
- Add lines of green candy melts as decoration on the midline above the red, as desired.
- “Glue” bow icing decorations to the space between the ears on some of the cookies, using the green candy melts.
- Place cookies in the fridge for 15 minutes to allow the candy melts to set. Then enjoy!
