The year is just flying by, isn't it? For the new year, I vowed once again to get healthy and I'm doing a pretty good job of staying on track. I can attribute much of my success to three small changes that I've made over the last few months: Eating better, walking more and taking vitamins. Nothing new, I know— but that just shows you how important this combination is for overall health and wellness.
Here's a quick breakdown of my daily routine with a super yummy recipe for a Tropical Smoothie Bowl.
Eating Better
Every single morning when I wake up I have to make a decision to start my day off right. It's really easy to reach for frozen food or a pastry— but I know I'm probably going to feel bad within 5 minutes of making those choices. Instead, I now make a fresh and healthy breakfast, which fuels me through the rest of the day. One of my favorite new routines to wake up to is a Tropical Smoothie Bowl, packed with antioxidants and superfoods. Not only is the bowl delicious, but it's beautiful to look at...and so easy to make!

Walking More
Since I work from home and sit on the computer all day, I really have to push myself to exercise. The activity I enjoy the most is walking outside— there's nothing greater than fresh air when you're stuck inside for the majority of the day. I've mapped out 2 and 3 mile runs in my neighborhood that I can easily access for 30-45 minutes of activity. Once I got in the habit of walking/running each morning or afternoon, it became a routine that I now look forward to.
Taking Vitamins
I started taking vitamins on a daily basis last year and I can now tell a major difference in how I feel. The most obvious side effect for me has been increased energy. Every day I take a multivitamin, B-12, fish oil and probiotic without fail. Recently I added Nature Made chewable vitamin C to the mix help boost my immune system.
