Start your morning with a healthy & delicious Coffee Oatmeal Smoothie. This easy coffee smoothie recipe is perfect for busy mornings when you're on-the-go.
Coffee Breakfast Smoothie
The breakfast smoothie trend has been going on for a while now, and personally, I'm all about it. I'm not a big breakfast person during the weekdays and used to skip the meal completely. However, I know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why I now make a quick smoothie to drink at my desk or on the go until I'm ready for lunch or a snack. I never regret having the added boost of protein and vitamins!
One smoothie flavor that I have been experimenting with lately is coffee. I never miss my morning cup, so it only makes sense that I combine my favorite source of caffeine with my preferred breakfast option, killing two birds with one stone.
To make my coffee breakfast smoothie more of a meal, I have been adding oats because it gives the beverage a thicker, more filling consistency. Raw oats are also an excellent source of protein and fiber, making the addition a win-win all around.
Coffee Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe
Coffee Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 cup strong coffee frozen into cubes (6 cubes)
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
- ¼ cup old fashioned oats
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon almond butter

Tip: Prep the frozen coffee cubes in advance to have coffee smoothies ready to make throughout the week. Silicone ice cube trays work really well with leftover coffee.
How do you make a Healthy Coffee Smoothie
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
This Coffee Oatmeal Smoothie recipe is the perfect blend of sweetness with fresh banana, almond butter, and honey. The unsweetened cocoa powder gives it a hint of chocolate flavor, too.
You can use any kind of milk, though my personal preference is almond milk or coconut milk to keep the recipe dairy-free. For a vegan coffee oatmeal smoothie, use agave nectar instead of honey.

Holy smokes this is insanely delicious! I used dark cocoa powder for a stronger taste and two frozen bananas instead of frozen coffee cubes and it is phenomenal. I will definitely be passing this recipe around. Thank you so much!
