I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, in fact, I know I have— I’m a bit of an Anglophile. If it’s British, it’s probably for me. This explains my love for Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, fish and chips, tea, and of course, the royal family. Speaking of the royal family, it’s a very royal summer with Prince George’s 1st birthday coming up on July 22.
As an American, I get swept away with the pomp and circumstance that surrounds just about every big event or holiday in the U.K. I can only imagine how exciting it must be for Londoners who are in the midst of all the action of the Queen and Buckingham Palace.
I can only assume Prince George will have a fabulously royal birthday party—I actually just read that the Royal Mint is creating a limited-edition £5 silver coin in honor of the royal baby’s birthday. How cool is that!? I wish I was there to celebrate with them!
While I’ve yet to travel to England, the country remains high on my bucket list. For now I will stick to reading the Daily Mail for my royal family updates, and keep my wanderlust in check with travel photos from Instagram and Pinterest.
