Monkey Banana & Chocolate Bath Bombs
What Can You Do with These Bath Bombs?
Although I often love a good bath, particularly with a sweet smelling bath bomb, sometimes a bath's just not my thing.
But, if you know me, you know I'm resourceful. I've found that bath bombs can be used for more than just taking a relaxing soak in the tub. There's lots of options, but some of my favorites are infusing the bath bombs with essential oils and then letting them fizz in the shower. Using bath bombs to help clean the disposal in the kitchen sink (no that's really a thing). You can even use bath bombs to decorate the guest bathroom or have some time to yourself at-home with a DIY mani/pedis using the bath bombs to soften any calluses.
For me, though, my favorite use for bath bombs is to gift them. It's like giving my friends a reason to take a relaxing bath.

- ¼ teaspoon chocolate flavoring oil
- ¼ teaspoon banana flavoring oil

- 1 tablespoon brown mica powder
- 2-4 tablespoons monkey and banana sprinkles blend
- 4-5 bath bomb molds
How to Make Monkey Banana & Chocolate Bath Bombs
- Whisk together the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and epsom salts.
- Add coconut oil, 1 teaspoon at a time, to the dry ingredients, mixing it together slowly so as not to start the fizzy reaction.
- Separate the mixture into two bowls.
- In one portion of bath bomb mixture, add in the yellow mica powder and banana cream flavoring oil then mix well.
- In the other portion of bath bomb mixture, add the brown mica powder and chocolate flavoring oil, then stir until the color is consistent throughout.
- Dust the bottom of one side of the bath bomb mold with cornstarch. The sprinkle side tends to come out on its own, so do not bother to dust that side with cornstarch.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of sprinkles in the non-dusted side of the bath bomb mold. Make sure to place the monkey first, face-down, then follow up with the filler sprinkles.
- Immediately pack the bath bomb mold with the sprinkles full of the yellow bath bomb mixture, slightly overfilling it.
- In the other cornstarch-dusted side of the bath bomb mold, pack it with the brown bath bomb mixture, slightly overfilling it.
- Press the two sides together, grinding and pressing them to force the two together.
- Allow the bath bombs to rest in the mold for up to 24 hours before gently tapping the side of the mold to release the bombs.
- Use your bath bombs immediately or store in an airtight container until you’re ready to use!
And that's it! Just some simple ingredients you probably have around the house, a few minutes and some patience waiting while they set up, then you have a fun bath bomb!
