This Guinness Bread recipe is absolutely delicious in every way. The flavor is slightly sweet, malty and very filling, complementing a pat of Irish butter perfectly! It's essential for your St. Patrick's Day feast!
I'm a big fan of anything with Guinness in it. It's amazing to think about all the different things that you can make with this beautifully crafted beverage. Now that St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, I've contracted some type of Guinness fever, making every Guinness recipe I can find!
This Guinness Bread recipe goes perfectly with my hearty Guinness Beef Stew recipe, but it would also be an amazing base for a leftover corned beef sandwich. Can you say yum!? ... Bring on St. Paddy's Day!
Guinness Beer Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Butter, melted
- 2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vinegar
- 12 oz Guinness beer
How to Make Guinness Bread:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Grease a loaf pan.
3. Combine milk and vinegar and set aside for 10 minutes.
4. Mix together ¾ cup of oats, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
5. In another bowl, stir together the butter, vanilla, milk mixture and Guinness.
6. Add dry mixture to the liquid mixture, and stir until blended.
7. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
8. Sprinkle top with remaining oats.
9. Bake 30 minutes, then reduce temperature to 400 and bake for additional 20 minutes.
10. Allow to cool in pan for 30 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
