This Healthy Tuna Salad with Greek Yogurt is packed with avocado, tomatoes, black olives, cucumber, and chickpeas, bringing together all the bright and fresh flavors of the Mediterranean.

Healthy Tuna Salad

Have you been searching for a mayo-free tuna salad recipe? It took me a while to make the switch from using mayonnaise in my tuna salad to the healthier alternative of Greek yogurt, but now that I've tried it, I like it a lot more.

Greek Yogurt is creamy, but light and refreshing, bringing out the flavors of tuna along with the additional add-ins in tuna fish salad.

My favorite healthy tuna salad with Greek yogurt is a Mediterranean Tuna Salad made with avocado, tomatoes, black olives, cucumber, chickpeas, parsley, and lemon. Look how bright and fresh this tuna salad is!

Healthy Tuna Salad

This is one salad that's both healthy and delicious, and since there's no cooking involved, it takes just minutes to prepare. Healthy tuna salad is perfect as a lunch entree or as a side dish for spring and summer gatherings.

If you're like me and love avocado, go ahead and throw the entire avocado in there— avocado tuna salad is one of the best combos ever!

Is Tuna Salad Healthy?

Yes- when it's made with Greek Yogurt instead of mayo! If you look at all the ingredients in this healthy tuna salad AKA Mediterranean Tuna Salad recipe, you will notice there are no items listed that are "bad for you". Both avocado and extra virgin olive oil are healthy sources of fat— the chickpeas and beans are also heart-healthy.

If you're watching your carb intake, you can omit the garbanzo beans. Greek yogurt has approximately 11g carbs for 1/4 cup and this recipe yields 4 servings of tuna salad making it a low carb friendly!

How to Store Tuna Salad

Tuna salad is best when served immediately after it's prepared. To store tuna salad, place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate. Tuna salad lasts from 3-5 days once refrigerated, but I don't keep it longer than 3 days.
