Alright, guys-- I'm almost to the end of my posts from the #BigHero6event that I attended earlier this month at Walt Disney Animation Studios. But the good news is, I've saved the best for last!
Of all the fun activities that Disney had planned for us, from the cast interviews to learning to draw Baymax, it was my time in the recording booth that was the most exciting. Upon entering we were told that this was the exact room where the voice actors recorded for BIG HERO 6. Cool, right!?
I've been lucky enough to get inside the recording booth on three other occasions (PLANES FIRE & RESCUE, FROZEN & WRECK-IT RALPH), and while it does get easier, it doesn't get less thrilling -- I absolutely LOVED every second of each experience!
Because Baymax is a robot, his voice has an added layer to make it more robot-y. I didn't know how this was going to translate to my voice-- and while I don't think it's bad, it's clear that Scott Adsit plays a much better Baymax!
Here's a behind the scenes look at me voicing Baymax from BIG HERO 6. Feel free to skip to 2:20, there were some technical difficulties 😉
And the final product! I love how it all comes together! Baymax was one of the easier characters to voice because he doesn't have a mouth to match the lines to.
BIG HERO 6 is now playing in theaters nationwide!
I can’t thank Walt Disney Pictures enough for inviting me to be a part of the BIG HERO 6 press event (transportation & accommodations were provided). As always, all opinions are my own.
