The Princess and the Frog

We finally got around to seeing The Princess and the Frog tonight. Tyra gave us gift cards to see the movie as a surprise at the taping of The Tyra Show last month.

And because I never updated, my daughter actually made it on the show!

The movie was AWESOME! I am not going to go into a full review because you need to go see it for yourself. I think this is my favorite Disney movie to date. The soundtrack is exceptional. I have been singing "Down in the Bayou" for the past hour.

And now, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to New Orleans, Louisiana.

After the movie we made a stop to Barnes and Noble and picked up the new Princess Tiana Cookbook. My daughter and I are going to make the beignets this week and I will post an update with our results. Should be fun.

Finally, I have some pictures to share of Princess Tiana's Showboat Jubilee at the Magic Kingdom. This show, unfortunately, only runs until January 3, 2010.

Princess Tiana's Showboat Jubilee starts in the streets of the Magic Kingdom and ends on the riverboat at Liberty Square. It is a full on performance with the characters and music of The Princess and the Frog.

I am going to be sad to see it go because it is by far the best live performance at Disney World. Hopefully they will at least bring it back once the movie is released on DVD/Blu Ray. It's that good.

I am also wondering if Disney is going to do something special with The Princess and the Frog at Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside? If not, they should.

We are totally hooked on The Princess and the Frog.

You definitely should go to New Orleans! One of my favorite places. You will love the beignets! Lots of family friendly things to do there! We also loved this movie!

Can you believe I still haven't seen this yet? I know I know I should be spanked! We haven't had time to take the kids, but I promised them both we would see it either next weekend or the next. I am super excited about it though. It looks like a triumphant return to the look I love most from Disney.

Sooo cool that your DD was on Tyra!!! Congrats!

I haven't seen the movie, probably won't have the chance until it goes to DVD.
I went to New Orleans as a teenager and loved it. I'd like to take my family now, but not at Mardi Gras. I have had beignets and they rock!
