Did you know that February 22 is National Margarita Day? To be honest, I didn't know either -- but I am always up for a good margarita! For years the Margarita has been my go-to drink. There's something absolutely refreshing about the mixture of lime and tequila -- either frozen or on the rocks -- with a salted rim.
Here are three of my favorite margaritas:
Classic Margarita at Dreams Riviera Cancun - Cancun, Mexico
When in Mexico, my beverage of choice is the margarita -- how could it not be? One of my favorites was this classic frozen margarita at Dreams Riviera Cancun in Cancun, Mexico. The best part? This and every other margarita I consumed was part of Dreams Unlimited-Luxury, where everything is included with your resort stay. ~It was almost too perfect to drink. Almost.
Avocado Margarita at La Cava del Tequila - EPCOT World Showcase, Walt Disney World
This half-empty photo of the Avocado Margarita at La Cava del Tequila in Epcot does not do this drink justice! I usually go for straight up tequila and lime mixture, but this unique concoction was calling my name. The smooth and creamy blend of tequila, melon liqueur, fresh avocado, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice was better than I ever could have imagined. As long as you dig avocados this margarita is a winner!
Classic Margarita at LuLu's - Gulf Shores, Alabama
LuLu's at Homeport is owned by Lucy Buffett -- Jimmy Buffett's sister. I figured if there every was a place to have a margarita, this was it ... and I was right! LuLu's has mastered the art of the perfect tequila-to-lime ratio that is often hard to achieve in a frozen drink. Truly delish!
Now that I've shared my top three margaritas, where are your favorites?

I honestly don't think I've ever had a margarita. I'm not much of a drinker anyways but the few times I have I usually go for an Amaretto Stone Sour and once tried a Strawberry Daquiri (ick, too strong).
Andi at The Particular Traveler
Ahh, margaritas. The absolute best margarita I've had was right after I arrived at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay resort in Mazatlan, Mexico. It was our "welcome" drink, made with some top shelf tequila that I can't remember the name of now. After a long flight and no food, that one drink gave me such a buzz! 🙂
Great blog, by the way!

Those look DELICIOUS, and being in the right place probably makes them taste that much better. I recently tried a Jalapeno Margarita... WOW. Watch out. Those peppers will bite you.

I can't wait to have a margarita once this baby is born!
