travel Christmas ornaments

I'm really into travel Christmas ornaments. I've been collecting them for a few years now and I love the eclectic look they give our tree. Plus, they're a wonderful reminder of my personal and family travels. Though, the ones we collect on family trips are always my favorites!

I visited at least ten new destinations in 2013, picking up some beautiful new additions for my collection. Here are 5 of my faves from the past year.

April  2013 — Bermuda

This anchor ornament was a last minute purchase because I couldn't find a fancier one anywhere on the island. I was hoping for a glass ball with some of Bermuda's pink sand, like my ornament from Maui — though I did take a small bottle home with me to make my own. Bermuda was one of the most beautiful islands that I've ever been to, and I hope to return at some point with my family. {Check here to see what I'm talking about!}

June 2013 — New Orleans, Louisiana

Early in the summer we took a family vacation to New Orleans — it was awesome!  I couldn't resist this sparkly fleur-de-lis in the colors of Mardi Gras: purple, green and gold. It's a bonus that it's made of plastic.

June 2013 — Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia

My daughter and I went on our first Holland America cruise to Canada and New England this past summer. One of the port stops was Halifax, where we took an excursion out to Peggy's Cove to see the famous lighthouse. It was gorgeous! We picked up this cute ornament from the Sou’Wester Giftshop.

July 2013 - Vatican City; Rome, Italy

The big family trip this year was to Europe on the Carnival Sunshine. I'm fortunate that this was my second time visiting Rome, and purchased this cross in the official Vatican gift shop.

July 2013 — Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik was another stop on our Mediterranean cruise aboard the Carnival Sunshine. I purchased this hand-pained egg ornament from one of the market vendors selling crafts.

I think this is my favorite ornament of 2013!

Did you purchase any ornaments while traveling this year?

What a great idea. I usually buy magnets everywhere I go but I love the idea of an ornament.

I did get one from here in Texas for our first Christmas here! I really like the Bermuda one you got, it would look great on my tree (and I wouldn't mind visiting there to pick one up myself, lol!)

Love your collection, especially the Vatican City ornament, but that could be because Italy is number one on my travel list.

That is such a great idea! I actually never thought to do that. I buy a pin every time I go somewhere {which isn't nearly as often as you!} but never thought about ornaments, how fun!

The journalists at Investment Underground take an active approach
to their research, resulting in a variety of news items pertaining
to technology, commodities, and stock market
news. That is what one radio and television talk show reporter recently said as both the
heads of Citigroup, which has more than doubled in price in the past five days and traded more than 1.
    Reconstructing the rationale behind past
investments of the masters of capital allocation can be very instructive.
