These Halloween Ghost Cupcakes are a cute and spooky way to celebrate the trick-or-treat season!

Halloween is right around the corner— and it is such a fun time of the year! Getting to see all the children dressed up in their costumes, the excitement they have when trick or treating... I think it's just as exciting now that I'm a parent and on the other end of the holiday festivities!

This year, I thought I would plan ahead and come up with some new ideas for my daughter's Halloween party. I've made some incredibly cute Halloween treats in the past, including Halloween Cookies, Frankenstein Rice Krispies Treats and Mummy Twinkies Pops, but I think my newest confection — Halloween Ghost Cupcakes — is both spooky and sweet.

These chocolate & marshmallow creme Ghost Cupcakes are easy and inexpensive to make. All you need is a box of cake mix, marshmallow creme and chocolate chips to create your ghost’s face. What do you think!?

Halloween Ghost Cupcakes Recipe

Halloween Ghost Cupcakes

Adorably cute chocolate Halloween Ghost Cupcakes made from cupcake mix and marshmallow creme

Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix + box ingredients
1 cup butter softened
1 ½ cup powdered sugar
7 oz marshmallow creme
½ teaspoon vanilla
Regular & mini Chocolate Chips or Gray/Black round candy decorations

Instructions

Prepare cupcakes according to box directions and allow to cool.
Cream butter and vanilla with a mixer until fluffy.
Gradually add in powdered sugar until incorporated.
Fold in Marshmallow creme.
Transfer to a piping bag with a round tip.
Frost each cupcake and make eyes with mini chocolate chips and mouths with regular chocolate chips, or use cake decorations.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
