Start the fall season with a delicious loaf of Pumpkin Banana Chocolate Chip Bread! 

With pumpkin season right around the corner, I will be bringing you some delicious pumpkin recipes to satisfy your cravings for pumpkin spice! To start, I'm sharing a tasty Pumpkin Banana Chocolate Chip Bread recipe that's super easy to make.

This bread is similar to my Simple Banana Bread recipe with the addition of canned pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice and chocolate chips— an absolutely heavenly combination!

Pumpkin Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

When baking Pumpkin Banana Bread, you'll want to make sure that your bananas are super ripe. I always have ripe bananas when I need them because I peel and freeze fresh bananas in a Ziploc bag as soon as they blacken. Then when I'm in the mood to bake any type of banana bread or muffin, I have exactly what I need ready in the freezer. To thaw, simply leave on the counter until they mush with a fork. Then add to recipe as needed.

Pumpkin Banana Chocolate Chip Bread
Servings: 2 loaves

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 bananas extra ripe
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, and eggs. Mix until light and fluffy, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add pumpkin and bananas. Mix well, 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add remaining ingredients, except chocolate chips. Mix until just moistened, approximately 1 minute.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans.
  7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes.
  8. Cool five minutes and remove from pans.

This Pumpkin Banana Chocolate Chip bread recipe yields two loaves— one to eat and one to freeze!
